PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Technical Lead role is responsible for maintaining in-depth knowledge on current technology trends and the impacts of those advancements on CP. Using this Industry knowledge, the Technical Lead will recommend improvements to business systems; development practices and infrastructure optimizations. The Technical Lead will be the first point of contact for the resources in the team to provide technical guidance to ensure operational and projects deliveries are completed in a timely manner and by maintaining the standards established by CP. The Technical Lead will identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and coach and mentor less experienced team members.

Provides technical leadership by ensuring there are clear technical goals set for the team members, motivating team members towards achieving the goals to fulfill the current demand. Set pin pointed expectations when it comes to technical responsibilities within the team.
Applies critical thinking and analysis skills to problems across multiple eco-systems.
Designs upgrades, configuration improvements, and process improvements while considering the larger application and infrastructure eco-system.
Determines security requirements by evaluating business strategies and end user requirements; researching information on security standards; conducting system security and vulnerability analysis and risk assessments.
Ensures that code artifacts produced are of the highest quality, conforming to set or agreed upon standard. Should advocate such consistency to all members of the team.
Identifies opportunities to automate tasks and processes to continuously improve service delivery; monitors the effectiveness of automated tasks and improvements
Communicates effectively, verbally and in written formats. Demonstrates ability to flowchart/process design and visually represent complex technical concepts and solutions.
Spends necessary time developing, coaching, and encouraging employees to develop deeper technical capabilities.
Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews functional and technical requirements of projects
May be required to work irregular hours (weekends, after business hours)
Perform on-call duties on a weekly rotation
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline Required
7+ years’ experience in designing, developing and maintaining enterprise IT solutions
7+ years depth and breadth of experience in multiple programming languages, databases and operating systems including COBOL, Java, Sysbase or SQL Server, Linux
5+ years’ experience with .Net
Progressive experience in a technical role with 3+ years in managing technical teams.
5+ years’ experience in technical implementation and integration life cycle. Required and
Knowledge of one or more container orchestration platforms (Medium proficiency)
Knowledge of one or more automation test tools (Medium proficiency)
Ability to lead technology evolution to drive results and meet timelines as part of a strong technical delivery team.
Experience with Micro Focus Visual COBOL, Object Oriented COBOL, COBOL with embedded SQL, and COBJVM integration
Experience with Visual Basic .Net
Experience with MQ messaging or other messaging systems
Strong interpersonal, collaboration skills with a mindset and capabilities to coach and mentor less experienced team members. Must be able to influence team members at all levels of the organization.
Good understanding of Architectural and Design patterns.
Ability to write and review technical documents (design documents; ‘as-built’ system documentation)

1+ years Converged Infrastructure experience with specialization in one of the three base technologies (Compute, Storage or Networking) Preferred and
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Preferred

AWS Certified Solution Architect Preferred

Previous experience in perform on-call duties on a weekly rotation
