The initial salary for this position will start at the beginning of the listed salary range with the opportunity to advance up the pay grid in annual increments. An eligibility list may be established.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
Driven by Destination BC’s Corporate Strategy, the People and Development team aligns human resource management with corporate goals to ensure our organization has the people, capabilities and culture it needs to continue collaborating, innovating, actioning insights, being courageous and achieving winning results.
Reporting directly to the Director, People and Development, the Coordinator provides general human resource services to support Destination BC’s operations. This position takes a lead role in coordinating recruitment, employee engagement activities, learning and development initiatives, and organization-wide performance reviews. The Coordinator participates in special projects and plays a key role in planning corporate meetings and events.
This position provides technical and systems assistance (time and pay online portal), produces ad-hoc reports, and makes recommendations for ongoing improvements and updates to Destination BC’s People and Development policies, procedures and programs. Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data and human resource files, this position requires a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy.
As a central point of contact for employees, prospective recruits and the BC Public Service Agency, this position builds positive partnerships and develops a good understanding of human resource management within a unionized environment and related collective agreements.
