Job Title: IT Technician
Location: Niagara Falls
Shift: Full Time; 4 Day Week; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Pay: $48,000 to $55,000 + Benefits; RRSP Contribution
Job Summary:
Our client, a proud member of Niagara’s IT community with a record of over 30 years of service excellence, is looking for an experienced, confidently humble IT Technician to join their network administration and support team. As an IT technician, you will be responsible for working directly with clients and the internal support team to resolve software, hardware, and network issues. If you are a self-determined professional who is consciously engaged, motivated to continue learning, and takes pride in providing clients with empathic customer service, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
∙ Answer support calls and manage requests coming through the online help desk. ∙ Gather all necessary information from clients to prioritize, diagnose and successfully resolve issues.
∙ Participate in on-site visits with Niagara-area clients. This is a hands on role and you should be ready to “get your hands dirty” when the need arises.
∙ Share responsibility for after-hours support.

∙ Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
What technical skills are we looking for?
∙ Microsoft Windows server administration (Server 2012, Server 2012R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, Server 2022).
∙ Azure AD and associated Microsoft products.
∙ Microsoft Windows networking (Active directory, user rights and permissions, group policy).
∙ Virtualization (VMware ESXi, Vcenter).
∙ Backup and Storage (NAS, disaster recovery).
∙ Email (Exchange, spam management, Google Apps/G Suite, IMAP, Outlook and other mail clients).
∙ Network fundamentals (TCP/IP, NAT, OSI model, routing and switching, addressing and subnetting, security, VPNs, wireless infrastructure).
∙ Point of Sale systems (Networked applications using SQL databases, client/server architectures, working with 3rd party vendors).
∙ Research skills (When you don’t know something, how do you find the answer?). What other skills would be great to contribute?
∙ Linux desktop and server administration experience.
∙ Database administration (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, including backup and recovery). ∙ Software testing experience.
∙ Asterisk PBX experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
∙ Successful completion of relevant College or University education. ∙ Meaningful experience (5+ Years) in IT support or a similar technical role is an asset.
∙ Effective verbal and written communication skills in English (Documenting solutions, proposal writing, technical writing for the layperson).
∙ Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines and commitments, and complete tasks and projects as required.
∙ Strong organizational skills.
