Fiera Capital Looking for Analyst, Financial Reporting & Unitholder Recordkeeping at Montréal, QC Full Time

Under the supervision of the Director, Financial Statements and Unitholder Recordkeeping, the Analyst, Financial Reporting and Unitholder Recordkeeping will be part of a growing team within a global organization focused on facilitating the internal and external recordkeeping management of unitholder transactions and the preparation of the financial statements of the Fiera funds. The role will be exposed to a vast range of public and private funds with a multitude of investment strategies (fixed income, equity, alternative, etc.).

Your responsibilities:


Unitholder recordkeeping

• Manage and maintain the Fiera fund trading process end to end by coordinating new account set ups, fund trade transaction flow and manage third-party investor recordkeeper relationship to ensure successManage multiple trading flow data coming from FundServ, Internal Portfolio Management systems and direct trades into the Fiera funds and ensure all trading is properly recorded on time
• Manage cash flows from multiple custodians to / from our fund business and ensure all cash settles on time
• Interact with custodians ensuring all unitholder transactions are reconciled and processed according to established standards

Financial reporting

• Participate in the production of the financial statements of the Fiera funds by creating draft versions of financial statements using available content, templates and guidelines
• Proofread documents to ensure consistency, completeness and accuracy of information and make corrections when needed
• Manage deadlines and monitor ongoing progress of the financial statements’ preparation, and address any production issues
• Develop close relationships with internal and external parties (such as Legal, Performance, Risk, CIO Office, auditors, translator, typesetting service provider, printer, Fund Administrators) to foster communication and resolve issues effectively

Other

• Participate in various projects / assignments to optimize processes
• Develop enhanced procedures for a growing global business
• Exercise sound judgement in the application of procedures and controls
• Apply a mix of acquired practical and conceptual knowledge in own area of functional discipline to analyze and problem solve
• Understand where department fits into the organization and general understanding of other functional teams

Must have requirements to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration and/or related college degree with equivalent work experience required
• 1 year of relevant experience (ideally in investment operations or fund administration)
• Strong analytical skills for problem resolution
• Ability to anticipate what is coming, show initiative and be able to think outside the box
• Organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
• Results oriented with a strong capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and client servicing skills
• Diligence, diplomacy and discretion to handle information which is confidential by nature
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written
