Thomas, Large & Singer Inc. is a leading provider of comprehensive value chain solutions to leading
consumer packaged goods brands in the Canadian market as well as broker management services and
private label brokerage services.
Our dynamic team is growing. Currently, we require the services of a strong Director of Financial
Reporting. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, the Director of Financial Reporting is
responsible for managing an accounting team. The team is accountable for the month-end reconciliation
process for all TLS clients and will work closely with the finance team in client services.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the accurate and timely preparation of monthly reconciliations for all clients.
Supervise a team of Financial Analysts and Junior Financial Analysts through active coaching and
mentoring, setting objectives and talent management.
Develop and maintain a best practice environment for the team and harmonize processes.
Benchmark delivery standards and encourage a continuous improvement culture to meet or
exceed those benchmark standards.
Collaborate with the Client Services team to ensure they are aware of all accounting/reporting
matters for the team to complete the client P&Ls.
Required Skills:
Strong attention to detail
Able to work within tight deadlines and excel in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills
Prior supervision experience that demonstrates the ability to mentor and train a team of staff
Must possess a desire to effect change and make a difference in the organization
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
CPA or MBA preferred
CPG experience preferred
