Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Manager, participates in the preparation, consolidation and analysis of budgets and forecasts; provides information to management on the status and performance of the programs and operations of the site; assists in the preparation of reports on the financial and statistical operation. Acts as a Finance Representative on internal committees. Performs other duties as assigned.
Under the direction of the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for:
Administering the General Ledger Budgeting System
Analyzing and Reconciling WHA/Manitoba Health Funding
Analyzing New/Expanded Program Proposals
Administering RCSR budgets; and maintaining Position Control Database
Other Budgeting and Reporting Activities.
Experience
Three years recent computerized accounting experience including payroll, budget and forecast preparation is required, preferably within a large complex organization (healthcare or equivalent)
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards required
Presently enrolled in a recognized accounting program (minimum 3rd level CMA or CGA) required
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Qualifications and Skills
Ability to analyze and evaluate budgets and forecasts is required
A sound understanding of general accounting procedures, and working experience with General Ledger and Financial Statement preparation.
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computerized accounting systems, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and financial reporting packages, preferably SAP, is required
Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines and provide continuous quality service.
Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English language
Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must have the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines and manage a large volume workload
Ability to cope with unexpected interruptions in order to meet changing deadlines
