About the Role:
As part of Axiom’s Special Projects department, the Construction Administrative Assistant will be playing a key role in supporting the daily tasks of the team. The successful candidate will work with the rest of the project team to assist in their efforts to lead, build, and manage the team of employees and subcontractors involved in the entire construction process. Responsibilities include:
- Support management team with contract administration;
- Support the project team with office administration duties, such as ensuring office supplies are adequate and coordinating project payables, receivables, and billings with our accounting department;
- Lead project start-up meeting for coordination with project management, site, and technology departments;
- Assist project managers to compile and assemble manuals (eg. Architectural Warranty and Maintenance manuals);
- Assist the project team with tasks related to construction, calendar and meeting management, event planning and other administrative duties as required;
- Support office administration team, marketing efforts, health & safety teams.
What you Bring:
The Construction Administrative Assistant is someone who is ready to join an established organization in an administrative capacity. The ideal candidate is organized, detail oriented and analytical, but also works well under pressure, can adapt with ease to an ever-changing schedule, and is motivated by making a positive impact on our construction site. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to gain foundational experience in the daily operations of construction and real estate companies. The company is always growing, we are looking for someone who is driven by new challenges and responsibilities, with a passion to continuously expand and grow their knowledge / skillset in a high learning environment.
Skills and Qualifications
- At least two to three (2-3) years of previous experience in an office administration role – working in a fast-paced corporate work environment;
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related field;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Strong interpersonal communication (verbal/written) skills – with the ability to interact with all levels of the business professionally;
- Previous experience or interest in construction administration will be considered an asset;
- Experience with InDesign or email distribution software will be considered an asset.
