Shift Start Time: 5:15 AM – 1:30 pm and 11:15 am – 7:15 pm. Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Patient Food Service Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible to: Follow established procedures to maintain patient information related to the provision of meal service, prepare financial reports; process food preferences, food allergies, intolerances and meal tallies; process menus and tray tickets; effectively communicates with other departments on matters related to patient meals, snacks, nourishment supplies, completes other duties are required. This position requires you to be able to bend, lift, push items of up to 20 lbs. The successful candidate will be able to: Work in a fast-paced environment with speed and accuracy, work under pressure in high stress situations; demonstrate critical thinking and initiative; communicate effectively in English with customers, patients, co-workers and other hospital departments; work as an effective, professional team member with a focus on exceptional patient and family centered care.
As an Administrative Support II, you will require administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Complete a basic typing test to confirm a minimum standard of 35 words per minute typing speed with accuracy. Complete a basic mathematical test during the interview. Complete a basic attention to detail skills test during the interview. Minimum 1-year experience in commercial or healthcare food service environment. Minimum 1-year customer service experience. Demonstrated ability to follow through on issues/action plans/decisions and employs the appropriate monitoring system to ensure follow through is undertaken. Demonstrates positive customer service and professional telephone etiquette. Demonstrated ability to problem solve. Ability to perform a variety of duties with limited supervision is required. Must have demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English language. Must be proficient and experienced with Cbord with SCM software and as well as Windows software including Microsoft Excel and Word. In accordance with Health Information Act (HIA), Freedom of Information and Privacy (FOIP) and other privacy legislation in effect, the incumbent shall comply at all times with APL / AHS’s Information Privacy and Information Security policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Formula Calculator an asset. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with significant mental/visual demands, and handle competing and frequently changing priorities, within tight deadlines.
