We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Coordinator Co-op Student for our Systems, Software and Solutions Operations (S3O) – Strategic Supply Chain team in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Supply Chain & Procurement, you will be responsible for supporting the Supply Chain team focused in areas of Strategic Sourcing and Operations Procurement, Inventory Management and Transportation & Logistics. Working in a team environment, your positive outgoing personality, combined with strong communication skills and relationship building skills, will allow you to work proficiently with internal and external customers.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Effectively interface with internal stakeholders – Sales, Project Services, Production, Engineering, etc.
· Coordination of vendor price and delivery quotes for material requested by Sales and Project Teams.
· Coordinate materials from vendors to the manufacturing floor within the project management customer delivery timeframe.
· Purchasing for day-to-day operations, projects, and inventory.
· Expedite to the required date.
· Maintain good relationships with vendors and internal customers.
· Pursue possible vendor discounts and relationship opportunities.
· Qualify potential new suppliers, evaluate performance of existing suppliers, develop and maintain relationships with preferred vendors.
· Attend supplier meetings and business reviews; understand supplier deliverables and challenges.
· Explore alternate sources of supplies and negotiate new contracts, as required.
· Support Transportation and Logistics teams with coordination of freight and shipment of goods
· Review commercial invoices to support requisition-to-pay
Qualifications and Skills:
· Current Supply Chain Management or Business student
· Experience within a manufacturing environment, an asset
· Solid Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel
· Extensive and exceptional customer service habits and practices
· Strong organizational skills
· Strong attention to detail, focus on accuracy and quality
· Self-starter with ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
· Demonstrated ability to work proactively in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
· Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and internal customers
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Entrepreneurial work ethic
