We are seeking a full-time Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Winnipeg, MB. Reporting to the President, you will develop and facilitate all HR initiatives for national operations and all departments including talent retention, employee relations, health and safety, group benefits administration, performance management, and internal communications. The Human Resources Manager will foster a high functioning, collaborative and innovative culture that embraces diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Establish consistent HR practices across all branches that are in line with the overall business plan.
- Find opportunities to improve current HR processes and practices and lead change.
- Ensure alignment and consistent execution of HR initiatives and support the roll out of major HR programs.
- Oversee all staffing affairs including recruitment, salary negotiations, hiring, performance reviews, and exit interviews.
- Lead administration of Company Safety Program, Employee Engagement Surveys, Employee Recognition Program, and New Employee Onboarding programs.
- Coach Branch Managers and Senior Leadership on how to use their time most efficiently and effectively as it relates to HR issues.
- Support administration of Group Insurance and Benefits, Payroll, and Employee Profit Sharing Plan.
- Support and monitor the application of Florists Supply policies and procedures to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Develop and maintain job descriptions and candidate databases. Research and develop effective compensation strategies for employees.
- Ensure legal compliance with labour practices. Investigate escalated employee concerns and find solutions.
- Improve ties between management and employees by responding to requests, grievances, or other issues.
- Provide consistent communication to the President and Chief Operating Officer regarding employee relations issues.
- Gather and update HR-related news for the employee website and in the Quarterly Employee Newsletter.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years experience in Human Resources.
- Post-secondary degree with a concentration in Human Resources or Business Administration. CHRP designation is desirable.
- Previous experience in Payroll, Benefits and Compensation administration required.
