About the Role
InvestX is currently looking for a Fund Accountant to join our collaborative Finance and Investment Operations Team in Vancouver. This role will be primarily responsible for the administration and operations of a diverse portfolio of Limited Partnerships and Funds. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will work closely within the team, as well as with several other internal departments and our external service providers.
Responsibilities:
Perform detailed day to day oversight of our external fund administrator.
Review and reconcile daily transactions including investment positions and cash balances. Research and resolution of discrepancies.
Monitor SPV and Fund activities, record income and expenses, fees, transfers and any related transactions.
Prepare SPV and Fund financial statements and financial reporting package. Perform analytical review, maintain documentation and working papers.
Support SPV and Fund financial statement audit, communicate and respond to Audit requests.
Support year-end tax filing procedures including T5013 and US K1, respond to investor inquires.
Perform valuation and prepare NAV analysis.
Other responsibilities and ad hoc requests as directed by the team.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in the related field is required with a minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Fund Accounting and Administration
Working towards CPA designation would be an asset.
A solid understanding of Canadian and U.S. tax implications.
Exposure to various assets classes and fund structures including Mutual Fund and SPVs.
Strong analytical and mathematical ability, excellent Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software.
Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively within a team, have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster effective working relationships internally across the organization and externally.
Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and multi-tasking, resilient under pressure.
Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable in a high performance and deadline oriented working culture.
Demonstrate positive work ethics and professionalism.
Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada to attend occasional meetings; ability to travel as needed.
