Indigenous Lead for Ontario Structured Psychotherapy
Full Time Contract until March 31, 2024 (Job #2023.002)

Key Function: The Indigenous Lead provides key leadership role with the implementation of the Ontario Structured
Psychotherapy (OSP) program across the Northeast. The role will be focused on implementation of OSP and move forward recommendations that are culturally safe and relevant for Indigenous people across the Northeast. The
Indigenous Lead consults and collaborates with stakeholders, and Indigenous organizations, First Nations etc., across the span of the Northeast. This position includes some travel where feasible. The Indigenous Lead works toward and mobilizes the key deliverables outlined in the OSP Indigenous funding work plan for Fiscal year 22-24 that are in alignment with overarching OSP program key deliverables.

Key Duties:

• Lead and participate in engagement with stakeholders across the Northeast to identify gaps and develop recommendations for culturally safe and relevant implementation of OSP program.
• Acts as a primary point of contact, to help prioritize and coordinate strategic priorities, for Indigenous implementation for OSP for the Northeast network.
• Develops and presents material for review and informational purposed using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communications skills, with ability to express complex concepts effectively.
• Participate in provincial community of practice /planning tables for Indigenous Leads for OSP
• Provide leadership, oversight, and provide recommendations to the Indigenous OSP working group.
• Work in collaboration with service delivery sites, and help define a strategy/pathway that outlines how Indigenous clients are served via the OSP network
• Consider and scope out evaluation needs to ensure we are measuring effectiveness of OSP for Indigenous people accessing the service and provide recommendations to provincial table.
• Guide OSP program adaptations for Indigenous people

Education: Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in a health related field, from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

• 3-5 years leadership experience with Indigenous organizations leading and managing projects and development work as it relates to Indigenous people
• Experience in the mental health and addiction sector
• Experience working with Indigenous Communities and peoples and/or lived experience with First Nations, Inuit,

Metis or urban Indigenous Communities in Northeastern Ontario.

• Preference given to individuals who identify as First Nations, Inuit, Metis and live within the Ontario Health North

East Region.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to build effective relationships with various stakeholders across the Northeast and work productively in multi-faceted environment (i.e. in-person, travel, virtual)
• Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, decision making, and problem-solving skills
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Metis history, culture and health/socio- economic issues/needs in Ontario, including governance structures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Indigenous Communities and external healthcare organizations.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Personal Suitability:

• Willingness and ability to travel across the Northeast region of Ontario when required
• This position will be fully remote (work from home)
• Preference for Indigenous person living within the North East Region of Ontario.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate to work experience
