OCS Looking for Senior Automation Engineer at Toronto, ON Full Time

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Automation Engineer to join our Information Technology team. The Senior Automation Engineer will be responsible for Test Automation. As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will create and maintain test automation framework, and frequently collaborate with the functional testing team to create test automation scripts.

In this role, you will use your strong collaboration to coordinate with IT Operations team to inject the test automation in the CI/CD pipeline. You will execute automated test cases on-demand. As a senior Automation Engineer, you will use your strong test automation experience to speed up the release testing cycles.

About Your Day

• Create and maintain Test Automation Framework and Test Automation Scripts
• Perform dry-run tests to ensure scripts are working for the appropriate test environments
• Generate Test Data for Test Automation Scripts
• Mock responses from external systems on as-needed basis
• Execute Test Automation Scripts and report defects or issues to project team
• Generate progress report for Test Automation Initiative to stakeholders
• Assist other team members in troubleshooting the technical issues
• Estimate return on investment (ROI) and demonstrate savings to higher management
• Review Test Automation Scripts with Functional Testing team to ensure accuracy
• Work with the lead to identify the scope for automation
• Train manual testers on how to execute automation scripts
• Coach other team members in day-to-day automation activities
• Coordinate with infra team to create CI/CD pipelines
• Identify applications that can be automated in the organization
• Identify new automation tools and conduct proof-of-concept
• Implement TDD or BDD process in agile delivery

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and/or equivalent level of education and experience
• 7+ years of experience in Automation Testing with Selenium, Java, TestNG, Maven, Eclipse, Git, MS Azure repository, Rest Assured, Java Script, HTML, CSS
• ISTQB certification is an asset
• Experience in creating an automation framework that suits various types of systems and applications (MS dynamics 365 ERP & CRM, Web applications, Rest APIs) in the organization
• Expertise in Data Driven, Keyword and Hybrid frameworks
• Experience with implementing Page Object Model design patterns in Selenium
• Experience using Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline to run automation scripts
• Experience with integrating framework with Test/Defect management tools like XRAY and JIRA or Azure DevOps
• Experience in web services automation using Rest Assured
• Experience in MS Dynamics 365, Finance & Operations automation using tools such as Executive Automats, Test complete, etc.
• Experience in automating complex systems where more than 2 applications are involved
• Experience in creating custom utilities i.e., XML parsing to read and validate the data
• Experience with developing end-to-end automation scripts with Selenium to cover front end, middleware, and backend validations
• Experience in providing estimations for script development and execution
• Experience in implementing automation best practices and coding standards

Remote Work

• This position offers a Hybrid work schedule. You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 1 day each week, with the ability to work from home for the remaining workdays (subject to specific business needs requiring office attendance).
• When working from home, a reliable internet connection is required. Remote work is supported with cloud-based applications and collaboration tools (i.e., MS Teams)
