The Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) is the lead coordinating agency in the provincial government for all emergency management activities. As such, EMCR’s mission is to be responsible to British Columbians for leading the management of provincial level emergencies and disasters and supporting other authorities within their areas of jurisdiction. EMCR works directly with local governments, First Nations, provincial ministries and agencies, federal departments, other jurisdictions, industry and volunteers in hazard mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery.
Reporting to the Strategic HR Manager, the SHR Coordinator provides a full range of personnel and hiring services to EMCR. The position acts as an information linkage between EMCR employees and the BC Public Service Agency and provides advice to managers and employees regarding a wide range of human resources policies and procedures. The role is also responsible for the administration of the staffing process and streamlining of HR processes.
