Job Description:
As part of Sun Life’s strategic investment in HR data and technology, we are looking for an HR Technology Analyst to help bring proactive HR insights closer to users in an integrated, accessible and secure way. Working collaboratively with the Technical Leads and the other Analysts on the team, this role primarily supports the delivery, transformation and protection of HR Systems data.
We are looking for someone who learns new systems with ease, can analyze a request to get to the heart of the issue, and who is comfortable working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
About the team
The HR Analytics, Systems and Risk Management team brings together experts in Organizational Design, People Analytics, HR Systems, and Risk Management. This team designs and deploys scalable technical solutions to better organize, understand and proactively deploy Sun Life’s current and future workforce needs.
As a member of the Reporting, Data Management and Security squad, this role supports HR Systems security, production analytics, and data transformation across all HR Systems, with Workday HCM at the core. This squad ensures that workforce insights are proactively curated, designed and secured so that strategic insights are delivered to key decision-makers in the flow of work.
What will you do?
Design, build and test user-centric reports and dashboards in Workday and other reporting environments (SAP Webi, Tableau)
Provide prompt access to HR Systems, Reports and Data in compliance with Sun Life policies
Troubleshoot Workday reporting and security issues
Support the elimination of technical debt, including the redesign of the security framework and reduction of custom and scheduled reports
Contribute to effective governance of HR Data, including adding meta-data within Workday reports and supporting the classification and cataloging of data across HR Systems
Support system maintenance on all HR Systems through reviewing release notes and completing full cycle testing
Proactively recommend changes that enhance user experience, data quality and the effectiveness of analytics and dashboards
Participate as an active team member to suggest, triage, refine, plan and prioritize work
Follow and recommend improvements to internal standard operating procedures to ensure consistent quality and to mitigate risk
What do you need to succeed?
2+ years’ experience in HR Systems, IT, Data Analysis or a related field
Experience working with Workday Reporting, Security and Advanced Analytics is preferred
Working knowledge of Excel macros, Tableau, and VBA is an asset
Must be able to understand functional and technical details and think strategically to analyze requests and implement standardized, globally scalable solutions

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
