About the role
We’re looking for a Director, Strategy to join our team and make a difference!
The Director will contribute to the evolution and sustainability of Intact’s leadership advantage through the development of strategies that ensure ongoing organizational growth and success.
The Director, Strategy reports to the Deputy SVP, Strategy & Climate. This is a highly visible role with regular exposure to the CEO, Chief Strategy Officer and senior executives in Canada, US, UK and Europe. The successful candidate will also work closely with Investor Relations, Intact Ventures, Corporate Development, Corporate Affairs and Communications, and across various business units of IFC. The location of the role is flexible but candidates should expect to work according to the Eastern Time Zone.
What you’ll do here:
Drive the evolution of our strategy to ensure Intact is positioned to outperform in the markets where we operate by continually assessing corporate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and promote actionable proposals to address them
Continually scan the external landscape to identify relevant industry, consumer, and technology trends
Educate and build awareness of key trends with internal stakeholders
Identify new organizational capabilities required to sustain long-term competitive edges
Conduct various primary and secondary research with internal and external partners as required
Identify and coordinate mid- and long-term strategic initiatives working with designated “Research Action Teams” from the business units
Select research and consulting partners, if required, to support exploration of mid- and long-term strategic projects
Prepare research, analysis and presentations for executive teams and the IFC Board of Directors
Support all aspects of strategic planning at Intact
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
Minimum 7 years of work experience; 3+ years of management experience within that period
University degree required
Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, MBA and FCAS/FCIA considered an asset
Prior work experience and knowledge related to the Property & Casualty insurance industry is preferred
Strong research, strategic thinking, and communication (oral, written and presentation) skills
Strong facilitation skills and proven ability to engage people in ideas and influence without authority
Strong financial, business acumen, analytical and project management skills
Strong sense of urgency and resourcefulness with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Confidence interacting and presenting at the senior-most levels of the organization

Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
