The pandemic has highlighted how important telecoms networks are to society. Nokia’s Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.
Our Network Services Platform (NSP) helps automate IP and optical networks to simplify operations, respond quickly to fast-changing demand, get the most from resources and ensure maximum service performance and reliability.
NSP answers the need for more responsive, efficient and reliable IP networks with:
A complete suite of ready-to-use applications that help network operations teams cover all use cases for network management, orchestration and control
An SDN resource controller that lets network engineering teams control the network and optimize traffic in real time
An open programmable platform that enables engineers and developers to automate network operations and ease integration with orchestrators and operations support systems (OSS)
What you will learn and contribute to
As a Senior Software Designer in our team, you will be working with scrum team to plan and design functionality across the NSP product. In addition, we will challenge you to learn continuously and apply your technical knowledge to new scenarios as our product changes to meet the requirements of our customers. In your role, you will focus on different aspect like Fault, Inventory and Telemetry of management for Nokia SR Router in NSP.
As part of our team, you will:
Work within a Scrum team for feature requirement analysis, estimates, design, implementation, unit test & automation
Use best practice development methodologies to ensure high-quality software before hand-off to QA
Support internal and external customers by troubleshooting and resolving defects
Work in team-based Agile environment
Your skills and experience
You have:
Degree in Software, Computer or Electrical Engineering, in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of software design/development experience
Experience working with Linux, Vagrant, Git, GitLab, Gradle, Jenkins
Proficiency in Java
Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Strong logical and analytical skills
It would be nice if you also had:
Knowledge of network management concepts and management protocols (e.g., SNMP, NETCONF, GRPC, gNMI).
Understanding of networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP etc.).
Knowledge of virtualization, Openstack, Kubernetes and related technologies or containers .
Familiarity with Rust and Go programming language.
