Martello Technologies Looking for People Operations Manager at Kanata, ON Full Time

Martello is looking for a People Operations Manager to lead all things people related for our globally distributed team. Reporting to the CFO you will design, lead and implement programs that have a direct impact on the Martello employee experience. This opportunity requires someone who can thrive in both day-to-day operational execution while also collaborating on strategy. You are empathetic, organized, and you understand what really motivates people. You’re experienced in setting up and continuously improving People processes, and you can jump from strategic to tactical implementation without a hitch.

You’re core responsibilities may include:

• Implement and continuously improve our People Operations programs, processes, and policies to effectively scale with the company.
• Responsible for the ongoing administration of all HR technology, tools and programs, including our HRIS.
• Establish HR metrics and analytics that drive insight and inform decisions.
• Oversee the development and administration of compensation and health and benefits programs, practices, policies, and vendor relationships globally
• Participate in the recruitment of candidates to fill critical roles.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders on employee-related initiatives and provide thought-leadership in areas such as Career Development, Compensation, Talent Development/Management, Employee Engagement and leadership.
• Develop and deploy initiatives to drive employee engagement and a strong sense of team across our distributed company.
• Enhance the onboarding process to ensure the successful integration of new team members and accelerate their time to productivity.
• Participate in the design of a job evaluation process to determine classification and appropriate compensation ranges for roles across Martello.
• Participate in compensation benchmarking surveys to ensure market competitiveness across all jurisdictions.
• Be the first line of contact in People & Culture for any employee relations’ issues (escalate as needed) and provide HR policy guidance.

Your experience will have included:

• Progressive experience in HR and/or People Operations
• Experience setting up HR policies, systems, and procedures in a growing company
• Knowledge of North American employment law, legislation, and compliance management (Knowledge of European laws would be an asset)
• Demonstrated understanding of HR functions – recruiting, performance management, organizational design, compensation, etc.

• Strong interpersonal skills and a deep ability to understand what motivates others
• Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize actions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to juggle several projects with a spirit of flexibility and positive outlook
• Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done, no matter how big or small
• Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in an effective and compelling manner with a variety of employees at all levels
• Experience working in start-ups and or global organizations is a plus

Even better if you have, but not required:

• Ability to communicate in other languages, including French
• Knowledge of employment legislation in France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, US and UK
• Previous experience with BambooHR, BlueMarble Payroll, DocuSign, SharePoint Sites
