Our flagship product, the Voltera V-One, is a desktop circuit board factory that allows educators to introduce the world of printable electronics to young minds, researchers to answer new and old questions, and electronics engineers to cut their prototype time from months to minutes. We’re consistently among the top growing companies in Canada and our machines are used by 2000+ electronics educators, researchers and developers in over 60 countries around the world, We will soon be releasing a product that will, for the first time, allow for the design of electronics that are flexible, stretchable, biocompatible and much, much more. We’re just getting started, and we’re excited.

What You’ll Do
Lay the necessary foundations for infrastructure, team processes, and other elements of the development process.
Maintaining high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
Owning the software development life cycle, from design to deployment & maintenance.
Reviewing and testing code written by other team members.
Providing technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentoring.
Involved in system design, strategy and architecture decisions.
Resolving bugs found within the software and releasing patches.
Who You Are
We are looking for someone with initiative and passion. Someone who is creative and enjoys solving hard problems. Someone who loves brainstorming sessions and thrives in small teams.
Strong understanding of the modern web development ecosystem
Extremely comfortable working with React, HTML and CSS
Extremely comfortable with Linux and Node.js
Experience with Firestore (Firebase) or similar databases
Experience with image processing (OpenCV) and object detection.
Our Tech Stack
You have experience with these or are willing to learn them:
Typescript,
React
Redux, Redux-saga
Node.js, npm
Docker (Balena)
Webpack, Electron
Lerna, Rollup (for shared modules)
Nice to haves
Experience with Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano
Experience with machine learning libraries like Tensorflow
Experience with Google Cloud functions / or AWS Lambda functions
Experience with 3D printing
Working conditions:
We are located in downtown Kitchener but currently working remotely like most companies. We will be moving to a hybrid work model once it is safe to do so.
