Hybrid Position:
PetSmart’s Canadian Home Office (CHO) is home to approximately 50 full-time associates who work in departments such as Human Resources, Merchandise Buying and Pricing, Replenishment, Marketing, Finance, Space Planning and more. The small but mighty team at the CHO supports the operations of 140+ PetSmart stores in Canada and works closely with counterparts at PetSmart’s global corporate headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. We also share the Canadian home office with our colleagues at PetSmart Charities of Canada—an independent, registered charity dedicated to reducing pet homelessness and supporting the bond between people and pets.
About the Location
Hybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Canada Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 3-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.
About the Job
As part of the Canadian Marketing team, the Senior Manager, Integrated & Vendor Marketing is focused on creating and implementing omni-channel marketing initiatives that drive new customer acquisition and capitalize on key incremental sales growth opportunities. This role will blend brand strategy, marketing content development, media strategy and program leadership, playing a key leadership role in our marketing team. The ideal candidate will have a strategic retail marketing background, with experience delivering successful in-store (experiential and promotional), paid media (acquisition and retention) initiatives for brands and/or categories with a diverse product portfolio. This person will also be responsible for becoming a strategic business leader who can merry key business insights with experiential marketing plans to drive results. The successful candidate will be able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect with peers, cross-functional partners and management. He/she will be detail-oriented and proactive, as well as strategic, with a passion for results.
What You’ll Do:
- You will lead the creation and execution of innovative consumer content and branded experiences that expand the Anything For Pets brand platform that brings new customers to PetSmart, building on our brand equity and delivering category growth
- Develop and support the executional process for unique omni-channel, consumer insight-led marketing programs that delight pet parents and deliver value for internal & external stakeholders
- Create relevant stories and promotional programs for pet parents that deliver solutions for the unique needs of their pets
- Translate complex data and insights into scalable opportunities
- Develop and gain alignment on marketing signage initiatives, write creative briefs, track project progress and ensure on time/budget execution
- Collaborate and partner with key cross-functional teams across Marketing, Merchandising, Creative as well as media and digital agencies
- Update internal partners & marketing leadership on the results from various initiatives, including key measurements, learnings and next steps
- Manage forecast, tracking and accuracy of assigned budget line items
What You Need:
- 7+ years of marketing experience in a retail business (ideally Omnichannel), or an agency that services retail businesses developing and executing strategic marketing plans
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree is a plus
- Track record of delivering successful and innovative marketing initiatives that drive business (not just marketing engagement or reach) results and create affinity for your company/brand
- Understanding of omni-channel retail marketing models
- Ability to create go-to-market programs using digital media and data-driven insights
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Exceptional ability to convince and influence at multiple levels
- Strong solutions-oriented mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to create strong internal and external partnerships across the organization
- A love of pets (of course!)
