Sharp Trucking Services Looking for Financial Controller at Edmonton, AB Full Time

We believe our people are our competitive advantage. We are seeking a Financial Controller to join and support Sharp’s Head Office in Edmonton.

Reporting to the Vice President Finance, the Financial Controller will oversee our accounting and financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for the company. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing a team of financial professionals, as well as a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial planning, and analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company
• Develop and maintain financial reporting systems and processes
• Prepare and present financial statements and reports to senior management and stakeholders
• Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
• Provide financial analysis and insights to inform strategic decision-making
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and standards
• Manage and mentor accounting and administrative staff

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial planning and analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with financial reporting systems and processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
