Job Description

Manage the services projects and complex sales order deliveries in-line with schedule and budget by collaborating successfully with internal and external customers and internal and external suppliers including manufacturers, logistics service providers, and customs brokers.

Daily Responsibilities

Coordinate the shipments of materials from domestic and international suppliers.

Maintain records of components that are shipping to sub-contract suppliers.

Plan and arrange shipments for out of gauge imports, exports, and project shipments.

Request quotes for freight shipments for international and domestic air, ocean, and truck shipments.

Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, suppliers, Project Managers, and Operational Procurement team.

Prepare shipping documents to meet import and export compliance standards.

Process international and domestic documentation to arrange shipments, including, but not limited to: Shipper’s Letter of Instruction, Packing Lists, Invoices, Free Trade Agreements, Hazmat documents, and any other applicable shipment documents.

First point of contact for freight issues with arranged shipments

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Plan, manage and monitor logistics in projects according to project-specific contractual requirements and corporate processes and guidelines

Support the Manager, Project Logistics, in planning, managing, and monitoring of logistics in-plant solution projects according to project-specific contractual requirements and corporate processes, as required

Select and purchase logistics services in accordance with corporate sourcing rules

Manage shipping and transportation schedules according to a project and/or sales order delivery schedule

Manage and drive service levels received by Logistics Service Providers at the project level

Prepare required logistics and customs clearance documentation

If applicable, support L/C (Letter of Credit) invoicing and documentation

Support customer in import/export customs clearance issues

Monitor and report deviations to logistics budget and project delivery schedule

Manage logistics related claims

Manage any non-project-related miscellaneous shipments

Preferred Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Management, Logistics or Supply Chain -or- 4+ years of experience in the logistics industry

Microsoft Office Suite
