Upstream Data Inc Looking for Logistics & Accounting Technician at Lloydminster, AB Full Time

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary school
• Completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for accounting or bookkeeping considered an asset
• Experience with data entry and bookkeeping
• Experience with SAP or other accounting programs considered an asset

Position Summary:

This is an entry level position reporting to the Financial Controller.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and direct logistic processes and establish ongoing improvement plans for freight management, vendor routing, and carrier management.
• Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics for transportation, shipping and receiving.
• Work with the inventory planning personnel to minimize shortages and improve inventory holdings.
• Deal with imports and exports shipped to and from the company; work with customs officials to ensure compliance.
• Conduct fleet management on company vehicles as necessary.
• Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems
• Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements in a ledger or computer system
• Prepare period or cost statements or reports
• Respond to customer inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems
• Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
• Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports.
• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
• Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax and other bills
• All other duties and responsibilities as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
