Description
Our client a North American Leader in the manufacturing sector has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join their Finance Team.
Major Responsibilities
- Maintain and update standard cost in ERP system for manufactured and purchased inventory
- Coordinate physical inventory and cycle counts
- Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues
- Provide variance analysis (standard vs. budgeted and actual costs)
- Analyze profitability reports by customer and product families
- Reconcile Inventory related GL Accounts
- Provide detailed inventory analysis by Product groups to ensure proper inventory valuations
- Validate the inventory values and cost of goods sold as part of the month end close
- Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
- Prepare and post month end inventory adjusting journal entries and amortization/depreciation expenses
- Gather and analyze date for mass standard cost update
- All other cost-related special projects or functions as may be required.
Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 plus years of experience in Cost Accounting and Variance analysis
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Attentive to detail and accurate
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Excellent computer application skills, including Microsoft Office Applications
