Position overview
We are looking for individuals interested in pursuing a career in wealth management to join our Manulife Securities team in the Saint-Leonard (Montreal) office. Through our comprehensive Investment Advisor Mentorship Program, we provide a career path and orientation to help new hires understand every aspect of wealth management and develop their skills and knowledge needed to build a book of business as an Investment Advisor (“IA”).

What you’ll do:
• Business development: establish a client base of individuals, professionals, families, business owners, and foundations and manage their complex financial needs;
• Investment advice: apply your investment philosophy and strategy to create customized investment solutions to your clients’ needs;
• Client service: develop trusted, often multi-generational, long-term relationships using personalized service and advice.
What we seek in a candidate:
• You have 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry and/or outbound sales experience (optional);
• Passion for financial markets and open-mindedness from a wide range of academic backgrounds, work experiences, and expertise;
• You have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), or will prior to your start date;
• You are driven and entrepreneurial at heart, have integrity, and are willing to commit to a career as an IA;
• You recognize the value of hard work and investment of time to build a successful business;
• You are comfortable earning 100% commission;
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills in both French and English (in order to cater to both French- and English-speaking clients).
Nice-to-have(s) as you embark on your IA journey:
• Experience in financial services or a direct marketing role;
• Demonstrated success in high-value sales within an entrepreneurial environment;
• Excellent understanding of financial products (equities, fixed income, managed products, structured products, options, etc.);
• Understanding of industry and firm compliance regulations and knowledge of back-office procedures;
• Completed the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) course (CSI), hold the financial planner diploma (IQPF), or are life licensed (LLQP).
