People Corporation Looking for Accounts Payable Clerk at Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Full Time

We are seeking a Accounts Payable Clerk to join our BPA team in Mississauga Office.

The Accounts Payable clerk is responsible for the processing, reconciliation and payment of all corporate expenses. Performing day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data. Preparing bills, invoices and bank deposits. The expectation for this position is that invoices are paid on a timely basis. This position reports to the Manager – Corporate Accounting.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will:

• Receive, verify and process all expenses in ACCPAC/Sage Expenses are posted to various companies.
• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
• Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
• Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation; issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
• Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
• Generate cheques per vendor and as per the different companies.
• Support EFT payments to vendors
• Follow up and clarify with vendors any discrepancies regarding outstanding payment.
• Review and reconcile monthly Accounts payable balance with General Ledger.
• Cost Allocations for client expenditure
• General accounting and any other finance support required

To be successful as a Accounts Payable Clerk with BPA, you will need:

• Knowledge and expertise in accounts payable.
• Knowledge of general accounting
• Reports directly to the Corporate Finance Manager
• Externally, occasional contact with vendors and insurance companies
• 5 years’ experience in a accounts payable function
