Job Summary
Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) is one of the two campuses of Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine. The main administrative office is located on the UNB Campus in Saint John. Reporting to the Assistant Dean DMNB Clinical Education, the Simulated Education Project Manager will design, develop, implement and support a simulation program in New Brunswick to fulfil the curricular needs of undergraduate learners and postgraduate trainees in New Brunswick clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement simulation lab policies and procedures on the use and operation of high, medium and low fidelity simulation equipment. Formulate budget recommendations including staffing, technical support and disposables. Organize, attend and participate in stakeholder meetings.
Develop, evaluate and refine scenarios for simulation experiences, utilizing role playing, props and dialogue to create a realistic learning environment in accordance with accreditation standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of curricula for undergraduate medical education and postgraduate medical education programs including the development of simulation component for staff and student competency training to support educational outcomes and curricular deliverables.
Design an orientation for instructors in lab procedures, location and use of materials and operation of equipment as well as a data analysis system to evaluate learning and satisfaction with the provision of services.
Plan, implement and deliver curricular events at NB clinical settings. Develop a schedule for delivery of simulation programming supporting undergraduate and postgraduate program objectives and serve as a simulation education resource for faculty utilizing simulation in the classroom and hospital setting.
Develop an inventory of all simulation equipment by site; standards for lab cleanliness, equipment maintenance, repair and replacement; and a system and schedule for regular maintenance and repair of all simulation equipment as well as for equipment sign out and movement.

The successful candidate may be required to work some evenings and weekends depending on scheduled sessions, as well as travel regularly throughout New Brunswick.
The successful applicant may work in-person on campus, primarily remotely, or perform a hybrid of the two as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements. Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, preferably in adult education, a health profession, or health-related field, with approximately seven years of related progressive experience in the health/medical education field (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Must have clinical knowledge and experience in health care related fields such as EMT, paramedical or other health professional certification and training, as well as project management and educational programming experience. Demonstrated mechanical and technical skills to competently maintain and use equipment in the simulation centres are required. Must have proven strong teamwork and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to present technical and non-technical audiences as well as experience directing clients at a variety of levels. Demonstrated ability to work independently, initiative, and organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Physical ability to lift, move, maintain and set up computer, audio-visual and simulation lab equipment weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance is required. Must have access to reliable transportation.
