Hamilton Health Sciences Looking for Clinical Manager – RJCHC Supports and Services at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada Full Time

The Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre of McMaster Children’s Hospital supports approximately 70,000 ambulatory visits each year supporting children and youth with special needs. Innovative client service supported by research, community and regional partnerships, strong interdisciplinary relationships and professional leadership are foundational to our services and we are looking for a Dynamic and informed individual to lead the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC) Supports and Services. The Clinical Manager is accountable to the Program Director for day-today operations (including financial, workload and staffing/human resources) within an evidence-based and family-centered environment, and for service planning, implementation and integration of plans that are aligned with the McMaster Children’s Hospital and corporate directions. The Clinical Manager works in partnership with the Clinical Managers of the RJCHC program, Medical Directors, and in collaboration with the Chief of Interprofessional Practice and other key stakeholders in MCH, HHS and our community to ensure high quality, effective, evidence based and efficient services and care are provided. The Clinical Manager will foster innovations with improve child and family service outcomes by facilitating collaboration between clinical service and research resources. As the program expands, additional responsibilities may be added.

• Current registration with a relevant health professional college preferred
• Master’s degree in Health Sciences or Business Administration preferred
• Minimum 3 years recent clinical management experience in a pediatric setting or within child health
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience in the child developmental sector (including autism, developmental pediatrics and/or rehabilitation) at a senior level
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of children with special needs and challenges and their families
• Demonstrated understanding of and ability to partner with community stakeholders and providers particularly in the developmental services sector
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, critical thinking, team building and staff engagement skills
• Demonstrated skills in project management and quality improvement
• Experience in managing and monitoring budgets
• Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education/learning
• Demonstrated innovation in addressing the needs of children and youth
• Must be able to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Screen (VSS)

Unit Summary

The Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre provides outpatient care, teaching, and support to children and families with developmental, behavioural, mental health, physical or communication needs. Some of our services provides support to adults as well. The RJCHC provides a range of services including Autism, Child and Youth Mental Health (outpatient), Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation, and Prosthetics and Orthotics. The RJCHC Centralized Registration and Scheduling service, Family Resource Centre and RJCHC orientation and learning programs are part of the responsibility of this position.
