North Oakville Animal Hospital (or NOAH as we love to say!)
North Oakville Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital focusing on the care of dogs and cats and has been serving the Oakville community since 2000. We are a 4 vet, 11 staff member hospital housed within a fully equipped facility where we are able to offer prescription diets, medications, in house lab testing, radiology, surgery, laser treatment and so much more. We are a “cat-friendly” hospital with a dedicated cat room and a separate comfort room for privacy. NOAH is also the proud owner of The Ark Pet Spaw and Emporium, a full-service grooming salon and cool boutique located next door to the hospital. We take our commitment to animals, pet parents and the Oakville Community seriously. We are currently looking for a dynamic Client Care Representative to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will enjoy a fun, supportive and dedicated team of professionals.
About the Role
As our ideal candidate you will have:
· The ability to strengthen the human-animal veterinary bond through exceptional care whether it is in person or on the phone. As well as the ability to handle upset or difficult clients in a tactful and respectful manner
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must. Great attention to detail, excellent organizational skills
· The ability to work with a variety of typical office equipment such as a computer and multiple types of software and social media tools, phone, fax, email, etc.
· Prior knowledge of or the ability to learn medical terminology and veterinary software program.
· A sound knowledge base of routinely purchased foods, over the counter products and retail supplies
· The ability to tolerate unpleasant odours, noises, the site of blood and other bodily fluids, and may be exposed to contagious diseases or injury as a result of animal handling.
· The ability to lift up to approximately 40lb and spend extended time standing.
· The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
· The ability to schedule and confirm appointments, and complete patient recalls in a timely manner
· The capability to ensure client/patient confidentiality at all times
· The ability to handle administrative tasks surrounding end of life including preparing, sympathy cards, etc.; represent the clinic in an enthusiastic and positive light at all times.
· The ability to perform daily cash procedures such as open, close, and midday balancing checks
