Our client is currently seeking a Senior Tax Advisor for a 12-month temporary position in Calgary, AB. By working for our client, you will be exposed to a large multinational oil & gas company, and be an integral part of the operations team.
The Senior Tax Advisor main focus will be within the planning and international function, where you will offer diverse tax support for projects and compliance overseen by the planning team. We are seeking a proactive individual who possesses a keen eye for detail and can thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely fulfillment of both internal and external deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Compile, categorize, and assemble necessary documentation to support tax planning initiatives.
Create and scrutinize financial models for diverse business and tax planning projects.
Oversee the execution of tax strategies, involving collaboration with business units, tax reporting, financial reporting, and other relevant departments.
Prepare and review calculations related to Canadian Foreign Accrual Property Income (FAPI) and foreign affiliate surplus.
Manage the preparation and review of Canadian international information reporting, including forms like T106s, T1134s, T1135s, and more.
Assist in addressing Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) audits by crafting responses to CRA inquiries.
Collaborate with various tax functions within the tax department and across different business units as needed.
Responsively address daily, unscheduled internal requests.
About you:
Bachelors’ degree in finance or accounting
8 years’ experience of corporate income tax work experience
Completion of a recognized accounting designation
Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax Courses level I and II, with level III is an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP, including the ability to run general ledger details and work with financial data.
Oil and gas industry experience is preferred
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, enabling efficient performance in a fast-paced environment with a diverse workload.
Proactive and strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
