Our client is a technical consultancy providing Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering and Advisory services across Canada. They are searching for a motivated and experienced individual in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be an individual that enjoys a challenging, professional, and dynamic workplace and contributing to the success of a hardworking team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and enter journal entries including all Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable entries;
- Ensure all costs are accurately coded and communicated for billing purposes;
- Responsible for processing employee expense reports;
- Enter and reconcile credit card transactions;
- Responsible for payment runs;
- Reconcile some general ledger accounts, analyze discrepancies and make appropriate corrections;
- Produce monthly GL accounts detail report;
- Assist in compiling support for external accountants and audits;
- Assist with ERP reporting, process improvements, implement best practices;
- Assist with set up of new projects, customers, and vendors within the ERP system;
- Maintain a proper accounting filling system;
- Other adhoc reporting; and
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, in engineering, construction or related fields;
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Commerce and ideally is working towards a professional accounting designation;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and knowledgeable in accounting ERP software (Acumatica is an asset);
- Must have good problem solving/lateral thinking skills;
- Efficient time management and ability to meet constant deadlines; and
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
