The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the accounts payable function within the organization. This role involves supervising a team of accounts payable professionals, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and supporting financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervise Accounts Payable Team: Manage a team of accounts payable staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
· Invoice Processing: Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and adherence to company policies in an automated AP environment
· Vendor Management: Maintain relationships with vendors, address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and negotiate favorable terms when applicable.
· Interface Management: Resolve errors as they arise through the interface from Concur to NetSuite and ensure completeness of information entered and processed.
· Payment Processing: Coordinate the timing and method of payments, such as cheques, electronic transfers, and ACH payments, to optimize cash flow.
· Expense Reporting: Oversee employee expense reporting, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely reimbursement.
· Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions, including invoice tracking, aging reports, and reconciliation.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
· Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end financial close processes, including reconciliation and reporting.
· Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance accounts payable processes and workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
· Reporting: Generate reports and provide analysis related to accounts payable for management and stakeholders.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA desirable).
· Several years of experience in accounts payable, including supervisory or management roles.
· Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite and SAP/Concur desirable) and Microsoft Excel.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
