In your role, you will
Plan and budget Standards activities for short, medium, and long-term projects.
Support the development and authoring of Bombardier Standard processes and Specifications.
Provide technical information regarding standard components to support all Bombardier products for:
Fasteners
Mechanical and Fluid Systems
Extrusions
Sheet metal
Support all programs with Standard components selection.
Work with subject matter experts from different disciplines (Fuel, MTLP, EMC/EMI, Stress, Design) to support the qualification of Standard components associated with product development, as well as weight and cost reduction initiatives.
Review and approve Standard component specifications (B-STDs and S-STDs).
Provide guidance to our team in India for documentation update based on change requests.
Review manufacturer’s documentation: drawings, specifications, deviations, Notices of Escape (NOE), Notices of Change (NOC), etc.
Mitigate potential roadblocks with regards to airworthiness and certifications issues of Standard components as well as all associated documentation.
Establish and draft Standard component qualification requirements.
Ensure that standard requirements, regulations, lessons learned, are taken into consideration in new product developments or modifications.
Interact with the Methods and Materials and Processes (MTLP) functions of each program to standardize work methodologies.
Interact with quality functions, logistics, supply chains as well as final assembly lines to support operational activities (ANDONs, Change Requests (RFC), Program Change Requests (PCR) for all Bombardier flight platforms.
Select, supervise, and train interns.
Work with components regulated by ITAR or under Controlled Goods
As our ideal candidate
You hold a university or college degree in aeronautical engineering or mechanical engineering.
You have at least 5 to 10 years of experience in standard component management, aerospace systems or structural design.
You are bilingual, English, and French, both written and spoken.
You have good knowledge of FAR 25 regulations sub paragraph 981. Equivalent Transport Canada (TCCA) regulations apply.
You have a good knowledge of aircraft hardware and systems components used through all the zones of an aircraft.
You have excellent knowledge of industry and military standards, i.e., SAE, NASC, ASD CERT, RTCA, MIL-STD, AMS, etc.
You master the Microsoft 365 suite.
You have technical knowledge of Bombardier Challenger, Global and Learjet products is an asset.
You have a mastery or knowledge of CATIA V5, NX, Teamcenter is an asset.
