About the role: Smooth Commerce is seeking a part time Bookkeeper to join our Finance Team. The Bookkeeper provides support to the Finance Controller by assisting in completion of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization, reconciliations, year end close, audit preparation and will work closely with the Staff Accountant on Cash, AR and AP transactions.
What you will do:
Support the completion of monthly, quarterly and year end close activities in a timely manner
Support and coordinate all client related requests for reporting, billing and invoicing with Client Services
Support and coordinate all accounts payable related invoice processing and payment requests with all departments
Manage and own the Bambora Pre-Authorized Debit and Credit Card collection process at Smooth Commerce
Handle reconciliations for bank, credit cards and general ledgers
Co-ordinate audits and prepare reports for regulators and government filings
Assist with the financial forecast and budgeting process as required
Provide insight into the analysis of operating results and capital expenditures
Be aware of and work in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
What you will bring:
Post Secondary education (preferably in Business Administration or related field) or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience as a full cycle bookkeeper
Aptitude for analyzing financial data and exemplary attention to detail
Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in QuickBooks (or equivalent) and a high degree of comfort using technology
Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions using sound judgement
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
Self-motivation with exceptional organizational and time management skills
Continuous improvement mindset to proactively identify and recommend administrative process efficiencies
Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced setting and collaboratively within a small team
Proven success with, and a passion for, exceeding client expectations in a customer service driven business
