This opportunity is to join the WSP team responsible for the execution and construction of the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI). The PHAI represents the federal government’s response to the community-requested solution for the cleanup and local, long-term, safe management of historic low-level radioactive waste in the municipalities of Port Hope and Clarington.

Please note we will consider candidates based in various locations throughout Canada, but this opportunity is based at the project site in Port Hope, Ontario.

A day in the life:

• Perform project coordination activities for the delivery of the technical milestones and phases of the project.
• Communicate with various project teams to assist with the monitoring and control of budgets, schedules and deadlines.
• Liaison with the project team, clients, subcontractors, and other potentially involved stakeholders, including regulatory body representatives.
• Responsible for coordination of the design progression of multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Prepare presentation materials including PowerPoint presentations.
• Coordinate the development of contract specifications and documentation.
• Escalate project issues to Project Manager , collaborate on identification of mitigation measures;
• Support the Project Manager in reviews of the project schedules for activities, milestones, and critical path
• Perform all other tasks that will help accomplish successful delivery of the project;

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in construction project coordination or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Eligible for Reliability security clearance (individual must have 3 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia)
