About the Position

The Employee Wellbeing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective programs that target physical and mental health responsible for improving mission partner health, mindset, and productivity through the creation of wellness programs. Through these efforts, the wellbeing advisor can aid and improve the long-term health of mission partners, reduce absenteeism and healthcare costs, contribute to productivity and efficiency in the workplace, both on an individual and ministry unit level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In Collaboration with Director Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Disability Management, develops and implements national health and wellbeing programs aligned to the Territorial Health Safety and Wellbeing Strategy and consistent with the Army’s principles and objectives.

• Carries out research projects and leads on the development and implementation of new wellbeing initiatives.
• Develops and implements effective training and communication programs that build the awareness, mindsets, and practices required to improve overall organizational health & wellbeing across the territory.
• Creates relevant wellness content for quarterly Health Safety and Wellbeing Bulletins.
• Develops a Territorial Wellbeing program calendar.
• Promotes health and wellbeing related monthly national observances throughout the Territory.
• Develops promotional materials, and other marketing plans for the health and wellbeing programs and other preventive wellness screenings onsite such as, flu clinic, first aid, etc.
• Partners with employee benefits administrators, worker’s compensation, safety administrators, as well as other related vendors providers to ensure appropriate wellness program offerings to the employee population.
• Co-ordinates and host health education classes and seminars, workshops, lunch and learn sessions supporting workplace wellbeing, such as fitness programs, etc.
• Creates on-line health and wellness library with physical and mental health resources for the territory.
• Advises and provides recommendations on good practice on flexible work policies.
• Chairs the territorial workplace wellbeing team and reports back to the territorial health & safety committee.
• Reviews/implements training to target specific wellness and health conditions.
• Measures and reports on various metrics that show the effectiveness of health and wellness initiatives in improving health, improving psychological safety, reducing costs and time off work.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to health and wellness.
• Professional designation in a related field.
• Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in developing, implementing, marketing, teaching, and evaluating employee health and Wellbeing programs.
• Experience in managing decentralized, remote, and multi-site operations.
• Thorough knowledge of all provincial health, safety and disability regulatory requirements, legislation, and regulations – in all provinces across Canada and Bermuda.
• Experience in developing and implementing successful wellbeing programs.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $88,205-$110,256, with the ability to progress to a maximum of $132,307. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
