Description
Responsibilities: Provides systems administration and systems operations support, including setting up user access, user profiles, backup and recovery, day-to-day computer systems operations. Perform software upgrades, apply patches, and provide customer interface to ensure requested changes are implemented, monitor computer workload trends and make adjustments to ensure optimum utilization of computer resources. Upkeep, configure, install and support the clients? network and coordinate the various systems. Systems Administrator
Responsibilities:
Provides systems administration and systems operations support, including setting up user access, user profiles, backup and recovery, service monitoring and configuration, day-to-day computer systems management and operations.
Perform software upgrades, apply patches, and provide customer interface to ensure requested changes are implemented, monitor computer workload trends and make adjustments to ensure optimum utilization of computer resources. Upkeep, configure, install and support the clients’ network and coordinate various systems. Support of scanners including desktop scanners.
Participate and support in the implementation of new components and enhancements to hosted solutions
General Skills:
Experience in day-to-day computer systems operations for desktop and server OS
Experience managing Windows and Linux operating systems (Windows Server 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
Experience with setup and management of Windows Internet Information Server
Experience with the configuration and monitoring of performance counters and measures on Windows based server platforms
Experience and support of Wintel desktop hardware platforms and accessories
Experience computer networking protocols and solutions including TCP/IP, SSH, SFTP, and HTTPS
Experience managing middleware and 3rd party software on servers (Both Windows and Linux)
Understanding of ITIL processes and working with ITSM tools (Remedy)
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines
Desirable Skills:
Certification in Microsoft technologies
Experience with Identity Management systems
Experience with distributed and networked systems
Awareness of emerging IT trends
Experience with cloud technology including Microsoft Azure
Experience in Windows PowerShell and one or more other programming languages
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
Infrastructure and Repository workstream:
Design and deployment of Back Office server infrastructure in support of the Fairfax solution.
Deployment of OPEX scanners in support of the Back Office solution.
Development of DR and COOP solutions for Back Office infrastructure.
Facilities buildout of new production and test areas on 7th floor, 33 King Street Oshawa.
Design and implementation of a new repository solution built on OPS cloud.
Integration of the future state repository solution with partner systems.
Migration of existing repository data into the new repository.
Implementation of records series /retention.
