Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking Metrology Engineering Specialist , reporting to the Quality Manager, working out of the Winnipeg office .
The Metrology Engineering Specialist provides computer-aided measurement services in the form of measurement collection, dimensional analysis and reporting, modeling and system maintenance.
Position Responsibilities:
Provides computer-aided measurement services in the form of measurement collection, dimensional analysis and reporting. Performs data collection and analysis using a variety of metrology systems and software. Provides assistance to other operators in the usage of systems and software.
Creates two and three-dimensional CAD models from collected geometric features and measurement data. Verifies accuracy to source data.
Designs, implements, and supports alternative and advanced verification methods and processes such as probing, vision systems, computer aided measurement systems, sampling, or statistical process control.
Assists in the development of measurement plans, programs and test procedures and performs data collection and analysis using a variety of metrology systems and software to support Metrology and Test Labs and Computer Aided Measurement inspection.
Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product, tooling and manufacturing designs. Reviews designs for manufacturability, producibility, testability and inspect ability.
Evaluates, qualifies and supports production implementation of selected materials, processes, equipment, and measurement systems to ensure conformance, manufacturing readiness and producibility requirements are met. Analyzes and compiles performance reports and process control statistics to determine and improve process capability or product quality.
Works under minimal direction and is responsible for training and mentoring lower level technicians.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
2+ years of experience in Quality, Engineering and/or Manufacturing
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent
Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications (e.g. specification, CAD models, design change, GD&T)
Experience in data analysis and statistical methods to support advanced problem-solving methods
Experience with interpreting or developing quality specifications, procedures or plans
Knowledge of data systems and configuration management principles and processes
Must be proficient in Microsoft office and general computer skills
Must be legally able to work in Canada
Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Prefer experience with GD&T, 3D modeling, Catia V4/V5, CAD/CAMs software, or related computer-based graphics applications, or CNC programming
Prefer experience in metrology, composite materials, and laboratory testing methods
Prefer knowledge of the quality system and compliance regulations (e.g., International Organization for Standardization (ISO9001), Aerospace Standard (AS91001)
Experience in Aviation and/or Aerospace manufacturing
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years’ related work experience, 7 years’ related work experience, etc.).
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
Salary Range:
Starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience. The range for this classification is $62,000-$110,000 annually. This is a full-time opportunity that provides full company paid benefits, and a retirement savings plan.
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
