Position Overview
The National Payroll Institute (“Institute”) has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Communications Specialist position in our Public Relations department. In this position, the incumbent will help to implement and execute marketing and communications plans and programs, to increase brand awareness for the National Payroll Institute.
This individual provides strategic communications counsel and support to the Institute’s Public Relations team. They demonstrate leadership as the communications representative, providing communication planning; strategy; positioning; writing; editing and proofreading oversight; as well as liaising with internal and external partners to deliver on marketing elements of approved communication plans. They can identify emerging issues that may affect the Institute, its members, or its brand and can interpret complex information to support issues management.
This individual provides support for all the Institute’s departments, projects and programs. They will review all English communications, ensuring the Institute’s brand is always well represented. Their communications capabilities will contribute to the Institute’s strategic objectives related to: brand building; stakeholder and influencer relationship management; member acquisition; member engagement; and enrollments in certification courses and professional development seminars.
This position plays a key role in driving the successful growth of the National Payroll Institute and the elevation of the payroll profession in Canada.

Core Working Days & Flexible Work Program
We’re proud to support a flexible hybrid approach which gives everyone the best of both worlds. Employees are required to work in the office 3 days per week and 2 days from home. Our mandatory core working days in the office are Mondays and Wednesdays. Employees have the flexibility in choosing the start and end times of their work days.
