An overview of your future role at BBA

You’ll encounter a variety of situations and develop technical skills in pumping, dust collecting and ventilation as well as for various industrial process applications such as water, tailings and slurry pumping, mine dewatering, cooling or heating systems, fuel pumping, wet and dry dust collection systems and ventilation. Moreover, you’ll be involved in maintenance projects for production equipment as well as its inspection and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

An overview of your mandates and responsibilities

• Serve as project leader.
• Oversee business relations and the quality of professional services.
• Lead and help prepare proposals.
• Share your technical knowledge with younger engineers and technicians on the team to prepare for and ensure technical succession.
• Participate in designing plans, specifications and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer.
• Lead and represent this expertise to various clients and stakeholders.
• Perform technical information statements.
• Help commission systems.
• Support construction work on site.
• Provide recommendations on establishing standards and other practical applications.
• Assign and review the work of less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff.

Overview Of Job Requirements

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Member of a Canadian engineering association
• At least 10 years of experience
• Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial or mining sectors
• Strong knowledge of one or more of the following fields: pumping, piping, stress analysis, dust collection, conveyors and other equipment related to mining processes
• Relevant site experience and proactive in health and safety
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications, databases and interfaces
• Relevant experience in project management, cost estimates, writing technical reports and troubleshooting
• Bilingual, both written and spoken (English and French)
• Asset: ASP Construction card
• Asset: Multidisciplinary work experience (Civil, Electrical, Automation)
