The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer – Transmission and Distribution. The position is offered at our offices in GTA, Ontario in Canada but we are offering the flexibility of working remotely from other provinces. Reporting to the National T&D Electrical Manager, this position will be responsible for performing electrical engineering design for power T&D projects.

A day in the life:
Responsibilities shall include part of the below services:
Design of Electrical Arrangement works of high voltage and medium voltage transformer station and switching stations.
Familiar with grounding studies (experience with CDEGS or WinIGS will be an asset);
Familiar with network studies (experience with Easypower and ETAP will be an asset);
Familiar with cable calculation (experience with Cymcap will be an asset);
Familiar with lightning studies.
Design of control and protection single lines
Design of schematic (Elementary Wiring Diagrams) of control and protection systems,
Design of AC and DC station service systems,
Design of protection relays logic diagrams,
Familiar with protection relays programming,
Familiar with Canadian standards
Liaise closely with established technical teams leads to coordinate engineering work
Supervise engineering resources, including technicians and drafters;
Committed to schedule and budget;
Provide due diligence support for Advisory Services mandates;
Some travel to and from client sites.

Qualifications shall include:
Electrical engineer with a power or high voltage background
P.Eng. designation
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience
Leadership qualities, strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrable experience working cooperatively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders
Pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
Multi-disciplinary versatility and knowledge
