Vallum Associates are currently working with a Canadian Solar Developer to help them hire a Finance Manager. The ideal candidate will need to have extensive experience building financial models for a Renewable Energy/Solar company.
You will be responsible for supporting the dynamic realm of renewable energy and corporate finance. You’ll be integral to various projects, from M&A endeavors to structuring project debt and equity. Your role will involve close collaboration with key industry players, such as developers, financing partners, and investment banks.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain financial models using various capital structures
- Generate analyses for internal investment committee evaluations.
- Aid in the evaluation, structuring, and pricing of acquisitions and project bids.
- Assist in the procurement and structuring of debt, equity, and tax equity for large-scale solar projects.
- Contribute to the structuring and pricing of project divestitures.
- Support due diligence processes for project acquisitions and greenfield development opportunities.
- Interpret historical energy pricing data to formulate forward pricing outlooks.
- Conduct market research, analytics, and modeling.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, or a related field (required).
- 5-7 years of experience in business or finance is advantageous.
- Proficient in financial modeling, with advanced Excel skills.
- Background in project finance, investment banking, private equity, or leveraged finance.
- Strong analytical prowess and keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset, thriving in entrepreneurial environments.
- Accountable and organized, adept at managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a knack for presentations.
