Commissionaires’ services over 200 sites and are in over 110 communities across the province. Our client base runs from the federal government to local municipalities, airports, industrial sectors, and commercial/residential buildings.
Based in our Vancouver office, and reporting to VP of Operations and VP of Finance, the Senior Human Resources Generalist will support and work with HR team members, leaders, and employees to support and deliver progressive and inclusive human resources programs and initiatives aligned with the values and needs of the organization.
The position will be hybrid, working from home and the Vancouver office.

Compensation: $80k-100k depending on experience
Major Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct employee investigations
- Lead the C-BC Health & Safety program to ensure health and safety is top of mind for all employees
- Provide employee relations support and solutions using your knowledge of the applicable employment legislation
- First point of contact for leaders and employees within your client groups regarding all HR matters
- Advise and support your client groups regarding employee experience and engagement, performance management, attendance management, and ability management.
- Lead the C-BC Health & Safety program to ensure health and safety is top of mind for all employees
- Manage the ISO certification program within Commissionaires BC
- Act as ambassador for the HRIS and support leaders and employees in using the HRIS
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR processes to support the business
Education & Knowledge
- Education: Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent.
- Experience: Five (5) plus years of relevant HR experience. CPHR designation required.
Skills and Requirements
- Knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation.
- Experience in employee relations, health & safety, performance management, employee experience and engagement, attendance, and ability management.
- Strong working knowledge in conducting investigations, specifically related to respect in the workplace, bullying and harassment, and discrimination complaints.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple demands.
- Possess diplomacy and tact required to deal effectively with all levels of employees in the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Required Security Clearances
- Must consent to a Criminal Background Check
- Public Works Reliability Clearance (for eligibility reasons-must have resided in Canada for 5 or more years)
