Fitzrovia Looking for Construction Project Manager at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

About the Role:

Fitzrovia is seeking to hire a Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager will be an experienced construction professional and will play a key role in all aspects of the building and construction of a high-rise, multi-residential project. This role will work closely with consultants, trades, as well as internal team members on all phases of the construction project.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all aspects of project construction with a view to completing the project on time, on budget and in accordance with quality control standards
• Review and manage the construction schedule in conjunction with the construction management team
• Review all contract drawings and specifications for completeness and coordination and ensure that the building is built in accordance with these documents
• Review full trade scopes and tender documents in conjunction with the construction management team
• Monitor the project’s material and labour costs and ensure accurate reporting is being completed
• Attend and lead project meetings with consultants, trades and/or the construction management team
• Ensure trade activities are undertaken in an organized fashion and work is completed in time for scheduled occupancies and commissioning of the project
• Advise fellow team members of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts
• Maintain excellent relationships with trade contractors on-site, architects and consultants
• Ensure comprehensive project close-out
• Review and approve project schedules / budgets, tender contracts, monitor and supervise construction program and schedule regular on-site design and construction meetings
• Negotiate agreements with construction suppliers and prepare change orders when necessary and analyze the costs
• Provide site directives necessary for work progression
• Ensure, with the mandated professionals, the quality of executed work and the conformity with laws and regulations as well as applicable building codes
• Drive consistency in operational processes, identify and implement best practices
• Work alongside the internal teams to create cost reports, annual budgets and business plans with the goal of maximizing asset value

Qualifications and Experiences:

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in hi-rise / multi-residential construction
• A university or college degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management will be considered an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate assertively with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong team leader, with the ability to hold team members accountable for results
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Excel
• Demonstrated ability or aptitude analyzing drawings for site, building, and suite plans
• Resilient and works well under stress and pressure to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong collaborator, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
