Responsibilities
*
Lead all aspects of retail construction projects, ensuring adherence
to timelines, budgets, and quality standards, with scalability in
mind.
*
Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and
subcontractors to develop project plans and schedules aligned with
client objectives and regulatory requirements.
*
Facilitate the acquisition of necessary permits and licenses, ensuring
compliance with all building, safety, and governmental regulations
throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Conduct regular site visits to oversee progress, address any issues or
delays, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and building
codes.
*
Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services, negotiating
contracts and fostering vendor relationships to optimize
cost-effectiveness and project timelines, while considering
scalability potential.
*
Monitor project budgeting and financial reporting, tracking expenses,
forecasting costs, and implementing cost-saving strategies where
feasible.
*
Manage contracts and ensure compliance with the Construction Lien Act,
including overseeing progress payments, holdbacks, and documentation
requirements such as Certificates of Insurance (COI) and Workers’
Compensation Board (WCB) documentation, to mitigate risk and uphold
legal obligations throughout the project.

Facilitate project team meetings, providing clear communication and
guidance to all stakeholders, and resolving conflicts or disputes as
needed.
*
Maintain accurate project documentation to ensure transparency and
accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
*
Implement quality control measures to uphold workmanship standards
that meet or exceed industry norms and client expectations.
*
Promote a culture of safety on-site, ensuring awareness and compliance
with safety regulations, and promptly addressing any safety concerns
or incidents.
Qualifications
*
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering,
Architecture, or related field.
*
Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial construction project
management, with a focus on retail space development.
*
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects concurrently, from
concept to completion.
*
Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building
codes relevant to retail construction.
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with
the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and
stakeholders.
*
Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Procore
and familiarity with BIM and other digital construction technologies.
*
PMP or similar certification is advantageous.
*
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
Compensation
This position is compensated as an independent consultant. The
Remuneration Package Will Reflect The Candidate’s Qualifications And
alignment with the requirements of the position. In addition,
profit-sharing opportunities will be provided based on the ability to
achieve competitive pricing in the market and performance metrics.
