We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial record-keeping and support the smooth operation of our accounting department.
Responsibilities
• Accounts Payable: Process invoices from vendors, verify accuracy, and ensure timely payments. Resolve any discrepancies or issues with invoices.
• Accounts Receivable: Assist in preparing and sending invoices to clients, monitor accounts receivable aging, and follow up on overdue payments.
• Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets. Maintain organized records of financial transactions.
• Bank Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling bank statements and resolving any discrepancies.
• Subtrade Reconciliations: ensure that all subtrade invoices have been processed, including payments made.
• Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Assist with Month-end Close: Support month-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial statement preparation.
• General Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the accounting department, including filing documents, answering phones, and responding to inquiries.
Qualifications
• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in accounting or finance role preferred, especially in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
