The EM will be responsible for post-secondary programs and options, in partnership with other post-secondary institutions and according to grant funding success. The EM will assist in education advocacy, compliance and reporting to the community, governing and funding bodies. The EM will play an integral role in planning, coordination and assistance in the delivery of post-secondary / continuing education / summer education programs; in the implementation and evaluation of changes and new initiatives in the education programs (Education Jurisdiction for example); and ensuring details for successful implementation have been considered, addressed and delivered. This position is expected to manage and oversee a variety of ongoing, annual and one-time projects and activities within the education portfolio at Seabird Island Band.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an education-related field;
7-10 years’ experience with progressive responsibilities in a related field or a relevant combination of education and experience;
Knowledge of management principles and skills in relation to planning, scheduling, costing, controlling and creating work plans;
Knowledge and experience of working across the different government policies, departments, political awareness;
Experience working with legal contracts and tender documents
Strong intellectual skills, track record of innovative thinking, analysis and practical activity;
Proficient computer skills including but not limited to MS Office suite, database etc.
Must possess strong supervisory and people management skills;
Skilled at networking and network-building; a strong commitment to partnership-working;
Experience in a First Nations setting is preferred;
Knowledge of the Sto:lo culture, traditions and language would be an asset;
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
Primary Responsibilities:
Seabird College and Post-Secondary – Funding, programming, compliance, reporting
Oversee the College programs, including trades, Adult Dogwood / post-secondary dual credits for trades and other post-secondary
Oversee the post-secondary support staff and program deliverables
Develop proposals / fund raising initiatives and joint ventures with other post-sec institutions
Manage program budgets and grant deliverables
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate of the delivery of post-secondary and continuing education programs
Liaise with provincial and federal education governing bodies on Adult Dogwood and post-secondary matters, including compliance, timely reporting, and legislation

Lead a task group on strategic post-sec planning and monitoring of deliverables
