We are assisting a very stable, well-run, privately held business as they look to fill a Financial Controller position. As a vital member of the management team, the Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic trajectory of the Corporate Group. This position is responsible for delivering robust financial insights, guidance, and recommendations that influence organizational decisions. The Financial Controller oversees all financial facets of the Corporate Group, ensuring the integrity of financial systems, accurate reporting, budget formulation, tax planning, and collaboration with senior management.

Financial Oversight

• Supervise all accounting and financial functions, including those of the international operations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate tax planning.
• Lead the quarterly close process and manage billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll activities.

Policy Development And Compliance

• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual tax returns and financial statements preparation.

Treasury And Cash Management

• Strategize cash flow planning and currency exchange management to optimize returns and mitigate risks.
• Oversee transfer pricing compliance and international group annual budgets.

Corporate Finance And Development

• Develop and execute financial strategies to support corporate vision, customer financing, expansion, and acquisitions.
• Cultivate and maintain banking relationships and support strategic planning initiatives.

Financial Reporting And Analysis

• Prepare and submit timely quarterly financial statements and consolidated reports to stakeholders.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes.

Team Leadership And Development

• Evaluate and enhance finance systems and processes for effectiveness and scalability.
• Mentor and manage financial staff, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities and fostering professional growth.

Stakeholder Management

• Enhance shareholder communication and maintain effective relationships with the Board of Directors.
• Ensure adherence to good corporate governance practices and manage risk through proactive strategies.

Human Resources Collaboration

• Collaborate with HR to document skills and implement recruitment strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Ensure equitable compensation packages and compliance with labor laws across jurisdictions.

Risk Management

• Develop risk mitigation strategies involving hedging, insurance coverage, and credit management.
• Stay informed about market trends and industry risks to provide guidance on risk management initiatives.

Requirements

Required Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of leadership experience
• Must have a CPA designation
• Experience dealing in/with international markets will be considered critical
• Good ASPE and financial reporting technical skills
• Strong communication skills
