This is a permanent full-time position that follows the academic schedule, working September to June.

The Position:

The Manager, Learning Experiences of the Forum for Change reports directly to Vice Principal, Experiential Education & Innovation, and works in collaboration and coordination with Forum for Change colleagues, as well as faculty and students in supporting the school’s strategic plan, Empowering Excellence, as well as students’ development of Havergal’s Global Competencies and the Portrait of a Havergal Graduate. They explore, develop and grow dynamic, future-ready learning experiences, and support the logistics and operations of implementing these experiences across Havergal’s Upper School. In carrying out the specific accountabilities, this role will lead the Global Experience Program, and the coordination and collaboration of student initiatives across the Upper School with Heads of School and faculty. Bringing the lenses of People, Perspective, Partnership and Place, this role will work to build capacity in Havergal employees and students to live the values of the school: integrity, inquiry, courage and compassion.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Support the VP of Experiential Education and Innovation in the development of Global Programming broadly:
    • Global Experience and the Global Learning Projects programming.
    • Round Square programming.
    • Support and risk mitigation for our trip leaders.
    • Student training for participation in Global Programming.
    • Mentoring the Forum for Change Council and Prefect.
  • Development of and programming for Havergal’s Global Competencies:
    • Global competency curriculum education across the school community.
    • Integration with other frameworks from EDI+B, Wellbeing and Teaching and Learning.
    • Creating modules that bring these competencies to life for our students involved in Global Learning Projects and Round Square programming.
    • Supporting our faculty PD with these global competencies.
    • Annual reporting.
  • UNESCO programming and membership
    • Supporting the programing of the Sustainability Council and Prefect.
    • Attending monthly UNESCO meetings.
  • Students’ Act Now programming
    • First point of contact for assessing and supporting student initiatives intake.
    • Coordinating with Heads of School on student involvement and initiatives.
    • Development and management of flagship/magnet specialty experiential programs under development.
    • Responsibility to communicate programming to broader community.
    • Supporting, as appropriate the other programs of the Forum for Change.
    • Closely working with students and faculty in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programming. They are also working with third-party partners and parents on external program offerings.
    • This role has specific responsibilities associated with the global programming that may require travel over weekends, major school holidays, and other times.

    Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience

    • A practice of and within intercultural competencies and global partnerships
    • A proven practice of global education, including risk management and development of intentional, high quality global experiences, including travel and supervision
    • Relevant university qualifications at the Bachelor level;
    • A minimum of 3 years exemplary and/or related teaching experience;
    • Experience in an independent school is an asset;
    • Enthusiasm to work from the disposition of People, Partnership, Perspective and Place;
    • A commitment toward continued professional development and growth;
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time-management and communication skills;
    • Able to work in a self-directed manner appropriate to changing needs;
    • A proven commitment to working successfully in collaborative environments, both face to face and virtually with students and colleagues;
    • Energy, commitment and a readiness to participate in the co-curricular program the diverse life of the school community.
