Title: Junior Information Analyst
Salary: Masters: $22.44 to $28.90 per hour. (pay range explained below)
Contract: 4 months
Hours: 37.5 hours Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
Location: Metro Vancouver, BC on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Hybrid working in line with FNHA’s flex work policy.
About The Role
As the Junior Information Analyst you will work with a variety of data sources to create reports and dashboards, and to perform required data analysis. In this role you will utilize a combination of programming, analytical, reporting, and data visualization tools to present data and analytic findings in a meaningful way to support the development and evaluation of strategies, policies, and procedures in Health Benefits. As the Junior Information Analyst you will also analyze and document business processes and workflows to ensure that data is processed, warehoused, analyzed and interpreted correctly, as well as works on the transformation, streamlining and optimization of processes and workflows to improve overall team productivity.
The Position Will Involve The Following Duties And Responsibilities
- Creates reports and dashboards in Excel, Tableau and other tools delivering meaningful data in a usable and user friendly manner
- Extracts data from the data warehouse; ensures data management, including several complex activities around data organization, database administration & maintenance, data analysis, data monitoring, and assessing data for quality
- Inspects and modifies data to make it usable for periodic and/or ad hoc reports and analysis accessible to external and internal stakeholders
- Writes and executes SQL scripts to fulfill data management requirements from FNHA’s data warehouse
- Analyzes data to identify trends, exceptions, and areas for further investigation
- Presents data and findings in a variety of means, including but not limited to, charts, graphs, interactive dashboards, and written reports
- Works with internal partners for data identification, data analysis, data reporting and to develop workflow and process maps. Collaborates with other analysts to support departmental priorities and initiatives
- Participates in the development of action plans to ensure assigned tasks are completed within agreed timelines
- Participates on internal projects/initiatives
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Currently enrolled in a university degree or diploma program in Statistics, Computer Science, or Business Administration, Economics or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Recent and relevant experience in data analysis, manipulation and interpretation, preferably in the health sector, is an asset
- Experience working with any three of the following: Tableau, SQL, Python, Excel, R.
- Experience working with office productivity software (Microsoft Office suite of products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
You May Have Experience In
- Experience analyzing electronic medical record (EMR) data is an asset
- Knowledge of health related programs and services within First Nations communities is an asset
- Knowledge of the BC health care system specifically primary care is an asset

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.
